ACIR - National Vaccine Objection (Conscientious Objection) Data

This page provides a table of historical Conscientious Objection by calendar year, 1999 to current.

Page last updated: 11 February 2016

Conscientious objection statistics are given as at a point in time, not a total number recorded each year. Children are continually coming on to the ACIR when registered and being removed due to becoming over seven years of age.

From 1 January 2016, families need to meet strengthened immunisation requirements to be eligible to receive childcare assistance and Family Tax Benefit Part A Supplement. Conscientious objection has been removed as a valid reason for a vaccination exemption to continue to receive these family assistance payments. As of 1 January 2016, historical conscientious objection data only is published on this page. For further information refer to the Department of Human Services website.
