  • The ATAGI Influenza Working Party delivered an interim draft report on influenza vaccination in children 6 months to 5 years. This draft will be referred to the National Immunisation Committee for further input.
  • ATAGI considered the recommendations of its Pneumococcal Working Party on the use of pneumococcal vaccines in persons over 65 years of age.
  • ATAGI reviewed and endorsed the Terms of Reference of the Hib/Men C Working Party.
  • ATAGI noted that there is a delay in the availability of large quantities of Herpes zoster vaccine.
  • ATAGI reviewed the chapter sponsors for sections of the Immunisation Handbook, and noted that the revised Herpes Zoster chapter incorporating vaccine recommendations is with the NHMRC for approval.
  • ATAGI agreed to review the usage of standard versus reduced antigen formulation diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine in 4 year olds.
  • ATAGI reviewed the outcomes of the Industry Consultation Day and modified the ATAGI work plan accordingly.
  • ATAGI will continue to contribute to the ADRAC review with respect to vaccine safety monitoring and investigation.
  • The next ATAGI meeting is scheduled for 19-20 February 2009 in Canberra.
